Pailhes is
a wine-producing village on top of a
gentle hill with exceptional views; to the south across the Orb
valley to the Pyrennees and to the north of the 3000 foot Caroux
mountains.
Thezan-les Beziers 1.5km. Village shops including a fantastic
baker renowned for his wicked chocolate creation called 'Le
Royal'. There is a local colourful market twice a week, a
pharmacy, a doctor, a post office and café.
Murviel-les-Beziers 3.5km. Supermarket, petrol station, bank.
Beziers 11 km. The cathedral dominates this busy market town,
rising majestically above the river Orb. The lively Feria in August
lasts five days; bull-fighting, paellas, flamenco dancing, and
partying in the streets until the early hours of the morning.
