THE HOUSE While retaining its ancient exposed oak beams, props and rafter supports and rustic stone walls throughout, "La Dame Blanche" offers a spacious and modern open plan ground floor, with a split-level living and dining area, including open fire place, and a fully equipped modern kitchen and bathroom/laundry. Double french doors lead to a large south facing paved, landscaped terrace and garden. The open timber staircase leads to the second storey which consists of three large double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a second bathroom. In the heart of Cathar country, Puivert has its own castle, lake with lakeside restaurant, village market, patisserie and mini-supermarket. This beautiful rural location is also close to the sea and mountains and offers countless scenic day trips to many and varied destinations in all season La Dame Blanche for Christmas, New Year and the European Ski Season.   Snow falls have already been officially recorded in the Pyrenees, and due to this house being in close proximity to numerous ski fields, we feel we can offer a unique experience!   Puivert’s best kept secret is its proximity to a range of amazingly challenging down hill skiing, cross country skiing and snow shoeing, with beginner through to black run terrain.    The winter months offer ski-able snow on the nearby mountains with the nearest ski resort only 20 minutes away.   Accessibility to Ax-les-Thermes or Andorra’s party town, Pas de la Cosa or the beautiful Soleu, could not be easier, driving on grated and maintained roads!  The cost of ski hire & ski passes are extremely cheap, as is the food & wine, particularly in Andorra – Europe’s duty free destination!   You can ski all day then return in the evening to an authentic French village and relax by the huge open fireplace, glass of wine in hand, music playing, reliving the day’s thrills and spills on the slopes!   La Dame Blanche is, of course, heated throughout, upstairs and down, wood is supplied and there are NO extra charges for the gas and electrical heating.   Rates: Saturday to Saturday   PRICES per week 2008/6 £ GB € Euros Winter Dec Jan Feb Mar   €495 MID Season April May Oct Nov Xmas & New Year   €620 PEAK Season Jun July August September    €785            All linen, including winter weight duvets, & bath towels included.   FREE No cleaning charges, as long as house is left as found.
